Boots, Bourbon, & Bonfire

"Third Time's A Charm"

Our Story

If our first 3 hour date at Red Robin wasn't a sign, the hours strolling The Paddock* and our half day marathon date that started at Baskin Robbins and ended with multiple refills of Diet Coke and unsweet tea at Mickey D's helped us realize very early on that "We both knew where this was going."

Were we ready for a new relationship? Probably not.

Were our instincts correct?

Definitely.

So, here we are, 26 Red Robin dates later, 2 years happier, having survived (and enjoyed) months of quarantine, ready to continue the journey that has already brought us so much joy.

We've been here before, made mistakes, stood back up after we stumbled, learned what we want and need from a marriage, and know we are ready to take this final leap, eyes wide open.

As they say,

"Third Time's A Charm."

*Disclaimer: it was Christmas in July at the Hallmark Store, we couldn't help ourselves.

Blame it all on our roots

Hey, show up in boots

This ain’t no black-tie affair

You’re not the last one to know

Don’t be the last one to show

We were the last ones you thought you'd see here

But it’s no surprise

No fear in our eyes

So join for a toast of champagne

We’ll toast you, too,

‘Cuz, honey, we ain’t through,

And you all helped us get here

'Cause we’ve been down in low places

Where the bourbon drowned

And our friends helped chase

Our blues away

Now we’re okay

Yeah, we’re not big on social graces,

We’ve got burgers & beer,

covered all our bases

‘Cause we’ve been down in low places

We know we’re not wrong

We’ve waited so long

Then, we’ve been here before

Now everything’s right

Let’s have a great night and

kick up our boots on the floor.

Heck, yeah, we mean

To cause a big scene

Spend a few hours and then

We’ll be so high

From the love and the power

That your friendship brings

'Cause we’ve been down in low places

Where the bourbon drowned

And our friends helped chase

Our blues away

Now we’re (more than) okay…
